The FSI Competition for Best Sustainability Report targets sustainability reports of Canadian companies that are part of the S&P/TSX Composite Index (new for the 2017 edition). The selection of the best report in each of several specific industry sectors is made by a jury of university students who use a common set of selection criteria (new for the 2017 edition), to which they can add customized criteria for their given sector. The students are enrolled at participating Quebec universities, including Concordia, HEC Montréal, École Polytechnique, Sherbrooke University, and UQÀM.
Award and recognition
The companies that receive the Award for Best Sustainability Report are presented with a commemorative trophy. The winners are announced at a luncheon-conference. The names of the winning companies are also posted on the FSI website.
The FSI Competition for Best Sustainability Report is governed by a steering committee composed of members of the FSI. Click here to find out more about the committee.
For each specific industry sector of the SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board) classification system (new for the 2017 edition), a jury composed of bachelor’s or master’s level university students working under the supervision of an associate professor conducts an assessment of the most recently published sustainable development reports of all the companies in the sector that are part of the S&P/TSX Composite Index.
University professors who would like to form a jury with a group of students are invited to contact us at email@example.com.
